Sea Fishing Locations in Cornwall

Cornwall is one of England’s most scenic and beautiful counties and also offers some brilliant fishing locations for all anglers of all abilities. Whether it be the jaw dropping cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches or hidden harbours Cornwall has the fishing for you.

As with every county I have handpicked the areas that offer the biggest variety of fishing options, whilst being close to large towns for access and convenience,these include;

Falmouth: is a beautiful south coast seaside town. Situated in Cornwall it nestles at the mouth of the estuary of the river Fal. Falmouth provides a large number of excellent fishing locations. I have included some of my favourite spots.

Newquay: Newquay is probably the best known surfing area in the UK with Fistral beach (pictured) its most important beach. The sea fishing around this famous town can be provide excellent sport all year round. There are many sheltered bays, surf beaches and harbours within very close proximity to Newquay that provide fantastic fishing for anglers of all abilities.

Padstow: Padstow or Padstein as it is often referred to due to its connection with the popular TV Chef Rick Stein is a beautiful location on the coast of Cornwall. A hugely popular tourist spot this area also has fantastic all year round fishing with fantastic variety of rocky marks, estuary marks and surf beaches all within a stones throw from the town.

St Ives: The picturesque town of St Ives is an historic fishing town with miles of sandy beaches close by and fantastic rocky fishing marks also within close proximity. Like most of Cornwall this is a very popular place for tourists particularly during the summer months. With all year round fishing I have selected some of my favourite marks within close proximity of this beautiful location.

South East:  The area I have called the “South East Coast” runs West of Plymouth down to Mevagissey on the south coast of Cornwall. An area crammed full of amazing shore fishing locations with all manner of species and marks to fish from. I have tried to cram in as many I can based on the size of this stretch of coastline.

South West: The area I have called the “South West Coast” runs from Lizard point on the South Cornish Coast around to Perranporth along the North Cornish coast. Again this is a large stretch of coastline and provides the shore angler with a huge variety of species and types of fishing mark. Be wary as with everywhere in Cornwall during certain months of the year this area can become incredibly busy.

Scilly IslesThe Scilly Isles lie off the South West point of Cornwall and are some of the most spectacular islands to be found anywhere in the United Kingdom. The islands are the fisherman’s perfect habitat with large tides and miles of mixed coastline all contributing to many anglers idea of heaven. Despite their appearance the islands actually do not produce much in the way of good bass fishing. I have selected some of the more well known shore locations around these islands.
