Sea Fishing Locations in Somerset

Somerset is one of the Wests most scenic and beautiful counties and also offers some brilliant fishing locations for all anglers of all abilities. Whether it be the jaw dropping cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches or tidal estuaries Somerset has the fishing for you.

As with every county I have handpicked the areas that offer the biggest variety of fishing options, whilst being close to large towns for access and convenience,these include;

.

Clevedon: Is famed for its Victorian ironwork’s pier that sits proudly at the heart of the town. Part of the infamous Bristol Channel the shore fishing around Clevedon as with all of the Somerset towns can be exceptional. The area comprises all year round shore fishing for a number of species and is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.

Minehead: Is a coastal town that sits on the banks of the Bristol Channel. Its proximity to the excellent fishing that can be found along the Bristol Channel makes it a perfect base to explore from. The area is famed for its spring and autumn run of Cod as well as some fantastic fishing for Bass, Rays and flatfish. We have assembled a number of our favourite locations in the area here.

Weston Super Mare: Is famed for a certain holiday camp but it also a wonderful place to explore the local coastline from. Its large sandy beaches have long made it a popular spot with tourists and anglers alike. The area gives you access to a number of different shore locations and the chance of some wonderful specimen fish. Rays, bass, cod and flatties are all caught from this area throughout the year.
